Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Trace the Sum (“the app”) is operated by Matthew (“we”, “us”). This policy explains
what we collect when you play and why. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
What we collect
- Guest account — an anonymous account id so your progress can sync online.
- Username — the display name you choose (shown on leaderboards and in matches).
- Gameplay data — scores, combos, match results, region for leaderboards, and related game stats.
- Device identifier — a durable id on your phone, stored as a hash on our servers, used to enforce bans and reduce abuse (e.g. after cheating). It is not used for advertising.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to run the service (e.g. errors, IP address at sign-in for rate limits and bot protection).
How we use it
- Run the game, save progress, and show leaderboards and multiplayer results.
- Prevent abuse, cheating, and ban evasion.
- Keep the service secure (including bot checks at sign-in).
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share data with
- Supabase — cloud hosting for accounts, scores, and leaderboards.
- Cloudflare — bot protection (Turnstile) when you first sign in as a guest.
- Apple / Google — if you use their app stores or in-app purchases in the future, their policies apply to those transactions.
We may also share data if required by law.
Retention
We keep account and gameplay data while you use the app. If you delete your account
or ask us to remove your data, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable time,
except where we must keep records for legal or security reasons.
Your choices
- You can change your username in Settings.
-
To delete your account and online data, email us at
tracethesum@gmail.com.
(In-app account deletion will be added before wide public release.)
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided
data and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and update the
date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
